Just an older guy that likes motorcycles. Passionate about my bikes but I like them all. If I could I would have many to ride and others just to look at.
My bike history (more or less in order):
1950's - bicycles with lawnmower engines. Both front and rear wheel drive. Built several.
1960's - Cushman Highlander for college use. I think it was a 1953. Used it to commute to work also.
1972 - Got my first new and real motorcycle. Honda 500 Four. Cost about $1,400 I think. For a few hundred more I should have gotten the CB750.
1980's - BMW 1984 R80RT, Honda 1982 CBX, BMW 1976 R75/6 (at one time had all 3 at the same time).
1990's - Honda 1996 ST1100 (what I thought was the perfect touring bike).
2000's - Replaced totaled ST1100 with Honda 2003 ST1300ABS. Better than the ST1100 but I still missed the ST1100.
2010 - Current bike - BMW 2010 R1200RT. Love this bike. Not seeking another bike at this time. Well... I don't think so... maybe an old bike to restore.
Age: 65. 5'10", 32 inseam, 195 lbs. (using Corbin on high position on the RT)

I love to ride either solo or with my wife and we have done extensive riding in Mexico, the Texas Hill Country, West Texas, the Big Bend National Park and surrounding areas including New Mexico. We ride and camp out in places like Big Bend National Park, Ft. Davis State Park and Yellowstone National Park.
My wife just bought for me the BMW R1200RT 90th Anniversary Edition for my 65th birthday (02/13). It's a great bike and handles like a small bike with big bike comforts.
I also own a 2008 105th Anniversary Ultra Classic Harley Davidson and a 1979 BMW R100RT.
I have owned a '75 BMW RT 75/6; '04 BMW 1150RT, '05 BMW LT, and a '05 Harley Ultra Classic. I mostly write on this blog about trips, review gear and product reviews.
